Our renowned team of experts from the transplant institute at Keck Medicine of USC in Los Angeles are here to provide you with a comprehensive approach to caring for a transplant patient. Keck Medicine of USC physicians specialize in a variety of transplantation procedures and are involved in all aspects of treatment, from the pre-evaluation to surgery and into the post-surgery phase of the procedure.

Each and every one of our transplantation programs are part of the United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS), the central agency that coordinates the nation’s organ transplant system. This affiliation allows us to offer patients the best opportunity to receive new organs.

Kidney Transplant

The Kidney Transplant Program at the USC Transplant Institute is part of the multi-organ transplant program at Keck Medicine of USC in Los Angeles. The transplant program is considered a Center of Excellence for Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Cigna Life Source, Humana, Interlink, Optum and Medicare, which ranks it in the top 10 percent of all transplant centers nationwide in quality.

Liver Transplant

Our liver transplant program is one of the pioneering centers in the country for live donor liver transplantation, in which a donor donates a portion of his or her own liver. The program successfully performed the first live donor transplant between adults in Southern California. Our team also performed the world’s first adult-to-adult live donor transplantation without a blood transfusion.
